So they think they can dance

Entertainment at it's finest:

Who needs rhythm when you got cool moves like these?!?

And we're thinking these two should have a dance off some day- 'cause we're still not sure who has the better moves.

Robby Report

I thought I'd throw out a quick Robby Report before he gets old enough to leave for college (I do really feel like he is growing up that fast...and I do really feel that behind...darn it!)

Robby is now 9 and 1/2 months. He is as cute as can be and is constantly impressing us with new things he learns each day. During our trip, he learned to crawl better on all fours instead of pulling his body along with his arms- I guess dragging your tummy around in the sand isn't much fun. He has been pulling himself up to standing for a few weeks now and has recently mastered the stairs (at least going up), much to my dismay. I fear he will walk much sooner than Tyler did. He is a great little eater and I LOVE watching his tiny little fists shove bits of food into his mouth. Robby is a very curious and active little boy, but is super cuddly when he's tired. I love sleepy mornings when he'll have a bottle and fall back to sleep in my bed with me- he is like a little teddy bear. He does some fun babbling, but most of all he just growls- a really deep, throaty kind of growl.

Robby adores his big brother. When we are driving in the car, Tyler can get Robby giggling like none other- it is so adorable. Robby is happiest when he is sitting side by side with Tyler in the toy room playing. Lucky for him, Tyler likes the company and doesn't mind sharing everything from Transformers to Batman. They are quite cute together. And Robby does a good job of making Tyler laugh too by all the little naughty things he does like pulling all of the baby wipes out of a container or unrolling half a roll of toilet paper. And of course, there are the nightly wrestling matches. They grunt, growl, giggle and roll around on the floor with daddy most every night before bed. Tyler is thankfully very soft in his wrestling with Robby and they both love it.
Robby is a blessing to our family. I still love munching on his little face, and I'm still constantly blown away by what a sweet miracle he is.

(this picture was taken the day after we got home from Hawaii. If you zoom in, you can see that he is covered in spots. I was so relieved this didn't happen during our trip. It turned out to be just a viral rash, but I was convinced that he had the measles. He sure looked miserable, but really didn't have any other symptoms- just the rash. And he sure was cute all cuddled in my bed with me).

Happy 10th

Yesterday was our TEN year anniversary. As part of the celebrations, we made an "anniversary cake," labeling some of the highlights of our life together over the past few years (notice that part of the cake was eaten before we even decorated it...I think that speaks volumes about this phase of our lives).
This was our anniversary cake from our fifth year. Some things have changed a lot and some things never will!
We also spent some time watching highlights of home videos of the last 10 years. It was so delightfully funny.
As we reminisced together I explained to John that the last ten years have been far from what I expected they'd be like, but when I look at where we are today- what we've done and who we've become, it's exactly what I had hoped for.
Today I have a grateful heart for all the good in my life and I look forward to what the next ten years might have in store.
(*I realize that I haven't posted in a while- a week of preparations, a week of vacationing, and a week of recovery will really wipe you out! I plan to post about our trip to Hawaii soon!)
