Texas Sledding

While many of our family and friends enjoyed a little snow in Utah over the weekend, we were out sledding TEXAS STYLE!

We can do old normal too...

Since I like to think that our life doesn't always evolve around insulin injections, blood checks, and carb counting, I thought I'd throw a few pictures on here to prove it to myself.
Last Saturday we went on our annual strawberry picking trip.

...and we didn't even freak out when this little mister accidentally ate two strawberries when we weren't looking.

We've done some slipping and sliding.

And a little bit of "shopping" like mommy.
And we've even thrown in a good dose of mischief every now and then.
You maybe can't tell from this picture, but the water is running and he is soaked. He decided he wanted to join Tyler in the shower and Tyler was totally down with that, so he let his little brother on in!
Life goes on.

Mommy's Little Helper

Yep. It's for real. Not a joke and not staged.

Last week, out of the blue, Tyler asked me if he could get Robby dressed...diaper and all. He was so cute, maybe not so gentle, but very cute and luckily Robby is a good sport and fairly sturdy. He had to push and pull to get Robby's arms in and out of the sleeves, but he insisted he could do it himself. He only asked for help when he was holding Robby's legs up in the air (one in each hand- to give you a good visual) and needed an extra set of hands to put the diaper underneath Robby's bum. He attached the tabs very well and even tried to wrap up the wet diaper in the same way he's seen me do. I was so proud of him and he seemed to be quite pleased with himself. And now I'm wondering why we didn't try this sooner!!!
He is a fantastic big brother and some day, he'll make a great daddy!
Man, how I love these boys!

I love this game

Tyler 5 months

Robby 8 months
And for this reason, I will never toss out their old baby clothes- just in case we ever have another boy to add to the game!
(Do you see why I laugh when people say that Robby is such a big baby...Tyler was HUGE!)

The new trampoline

This past week we had another spectacular storm and the trampoline blew into the neighbor's yard...again. Only this time it was a different neighbor and this time there was some minor damage done to her house. The whole experience was actually quite dramatic with John jumping the fence and trying to hoist the thing back over to me in our yard so that it wouldn't cause any more damage, all while the wind is gusting at over 75mph, the rain is pouring, and there were a record number of lightening strikes in our area. There was even a house one street over from us that was struck and caught on fire. Needless to say, the trampoline took it's last flight. The frame was damaged and we're kind of tired of retrieving it from each of the neighbor's yards. I get a feeling that we won't be nominated for neighbor of the year.

Anyway, Tyler decided that he needed something to jump on so he rummaged around the closet and found our air mattress. He dragged it downstairs and begged John to inflate it. Check out how much fun these two had together. Robby gets a kick out of being bounced around by his big brother (thank heavens), and I LOVE how funny they both are when they wrestle together. This happens most nights just before bedtime and I am still amazed that Robby gets just as wound up as Tyler does and that he seems to understand the concept of wrestling before he can even crawl...boys!

Oh, and don't you just love their matching jammies? That was Tyler's idea. How could I resist the little shorts?
