It's time for the Robby update. Man is this boy ever cute! I CAN NOT get enough of him. He is now almost 7 1/2 months and growing like a weed! This past week he got his first tooth. I didn't even realize he was teething. He hasn't really exhibited any of the classic symptoms, but lo and behold that little tooth popped through none the less.
He is a pretty content little guy as long as he is fed and has his naps. He giggles all the time at Tyler's crazy antics. He is very physical- always grabbing, pulling, hitting, and exploring anything he can find. You can't set something down near him and expect him to leave it alone. He loves paper products to pull, rip, wrinkle, and shred. Amazingly, he still isn't interested in puting these things he finds into his mouth. With Tyler, EVERYTHING went straight into his mouth. He can sit up and he loves to stand. His little legs are very strong. He isn't crawling, but when his is set down on the ground on his tummy, he can turn in circles and can sometimes push himself backwards.
He has a few nicknames, some of which we're not really sure where they came from, but they've stuck. For some reason, we call him Gus Gus or sometimes just Gus and even Little Gussie. He also goes by Little Bug and Squealy Joe (due to the funny high pitched squeals he makes sometimes).
When he gets excited, his whole body gets excited- it is so cute! His arms flap, his legs kick, and his little body squirms. This will frequently happen when we say one of two phrases- "Do you want some milk?" and "Where's Tyler?" He also does this when he sees me making a bottle or mixing up some baby food and recently whenever he sees the blue air mattress (see previous post and this won't need an explanation).
Man how I love this little boy. I know as mothers we are always saying how we can't believe how fast our kids grow, but how true it is. I love the thrill of watching him learn something new and I enjoy seeing his little personality develop, but how my heart aches to think that he isn't my tiny baby anymore. I am often overcome with gratitude for both of my boys. They are precious and I am curious when the day will come when I don't sneak into their bedrooms at night while they are sleeping to give them one last kiss and to look at their sweet, angelic faces.
Here is one quick video of our giggly boy. If you have a weak stomach, then skip the last 3 seconds. Apparently giggles, hiccups, and squash for lunch don't mix. Oh well, enjoy the giggles anyway.
